तावदान आणि ती 

दाटला काळोख अन् थिजला सभोवताल

फाटले आभाळ, झेलून विजेचा तडतडाट.

पर-जनांचे ताशेरे सोसून, लागे अश्रुंची ही धार,

सुखरूप ठेवी तेववत, तिला आत, 

जरी जन्मला असे हा सोसून धगधगता विखार.

Battled the dark storm, and tamed the wild,

Broke the sky, endured the lightning's child.

Drinking the tears of loved ones, flows this stream,

Keeping her happy, now seems a dream,
